Conversion accuracy
File conversion is automated. While we aim for accurate results, converted files may differ from the original. In particular:
- PDF to Word rebuilds the document structure from the PDF. Complex layouts, columns, fonts, text boxes and graphics may change. Scanned PDFs cannot be converted to editable text.
- PDF to Excel detects tables automatically. Values may be placed in the wrong column in irregular layouts, and formulas are not recreated.
- Word and Excel to PDF use the LibreOffice engine. Fonts not installed on the server are replaced, and some advanced features may render differently from Microsoft Office.
- Image tools may change colours, compression and metadata, and remove transparency when saving as JPG.
Always review the converted file, especially for legal, financial, medical, academic or official documents, before you use, submit or share it.
