How to convert Excel to PDF

  1. Choose your spreadsheet or drag it into the box.
  2. Keep “Fit all columns on one page width” selected (recommended) and choose an orientation.
  3. Click “Convert to PDF” and download the result.

Getting a clean PDF from a spreadsheet

Spreadsheets are not designed around pages, so converting them can split columns across many pages. With “Fit all columns on one page width”, each sheet is scaled to the width of the page while long sheets continue onto more pages vertically.

If you have already set up print areas and page settings in Excel, choose “Use the spreadsheet's own print settings” to keep them exactly.

CSV files

CSV files are opened as UTF-8 (or Windows-1252 for older files), and the separator – comma, semicolon, tab or pipe – is detected automatically.

Good to know

  • Very wide sheets fitted to one page width can produce small text.
  • Charts are drawn by the LibreOffice engine and may look slightly different from Excel.
  • Fonts not installed on the server are replaced with similar fonts.
  • Password-protected and macro-enabled workbooks (.xlsm) are not accepted.

Frequently asked questions

Why are my columns split across several pages?

Choose “Fit all columns on one page width” (the default). Each sheet is then scaled to fit across the page.

Are formulas converted?

The calculated results of formulas appear in the PDF. The PDF itself does not contain formulas.

Can I convert only one sheet?

All visible sheets are converted. To convert one sheet, hide the others in Excel or save that sheet as its own file before uploading.

Which files are supported?

XLSX, XLS (Excel 97–2003), ODS (OpenDocument Spreadsheet) and CSV files.

Is my spreadsheet kept on your server?

No. It is deleted after conversion, and the PDF is deleted automatically shortly afterwards.
