How to convert PDF to Excel

  1. Choose the PDF that contains your table, or drag it into the box.
  2. Click “Convert to Excel”.
  3. Download the .xlsx file. Each PDF page becomes its own worksheet.

Features

  • Real numbers. Amounts like 1,234.56, $99.00 or 15% are stored as numbers, so you can sum and sort them straight away.
  • Ruled and borderless tables. Tables with grid lines are copied cell by cell (including merged cells); text laid out in columns is split into columns automatically.
  • One sheet per page. Every page of the PDF is placed on its own worksheet, keeping your data organised.

How the PDF to Excel converter finds your data

For tables drawn with lines, the converter uses the grid to place each value in the correct cell. For tables without lines – common in bank statements – it looks for the vertical gaps that separate columns across many rows and uses them to build columns.

Text outside tables (titles, notes) is kept in the first column so nothing is lost. Long numbers such as account or card numbers, and values with leading zeros, are kept as text so they are not altered.

Good to know

  • Scanned PDFs have no extractable text and cannot be converted.
  • Complex layouts, overlapping text and tables without clear column spacing may need some manual clean-up.
  • Formulas are not recreated – values are copied as numbers or text.
  • Dates are kept as text exactly as they appear in the PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a bank statement PDF to Excel?

Yes. Statements generated by online banking usually contain selectable text and convert well. Scanned or photographed statements cannot be converted.

Are numbers converted to real Excel numbers?

Yes. Values such as 1,234.56, (45.00), €20 and 12% are stored as numbers with a matching format. IDs with leading zeros stay as text.

What if my table has no borders?

The converter detects columns from the spacing between values. It works well for neatly aligned tables; irregular layouts may need tidying.

Will formulas be included?

No. A PDF only contains the results, so the spreadsheet contains values, not formulas.

How many pages can I convert?

Up to the page limit shown when you upload. Each page becomes a separate worksheet.
